Noxubee County Circuit Clerk to Retire
NOXUBEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)-A longtime Noxubee County Circuit Clerk says he plans to retire at the end of the year. 52 year-old Carl Mickens confirmed last week that he will notify the Noxubee County Board of Supervisors Monday December 31 will be last day in office. He wouldn’t say exactly what his plans are but he did say he hopes to continue with his career in public service possibly with plan to seek another office in the 2015 election. It will be up to the Board of Supervisors to name a replacement until a special election can be held November 2013. Mickens served as a Justice Court Judge for a term and a half before becoming Circuit Clerk and was in his sixth term in office.
