November begins with freezing temps and high fire danger

COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) – Cold, dry air with a lingering breeze creates high fire danger across the Southeast for Wednesday. Gradually moderating temperatures are expected for the weekend.

WEDNESDAY: Tuesday’s wind will linger into today, yielding higher fire danger despite the colder air! Aside from the cold and the fire danger, the weather actually looks nice & chilly today. Expect highs in the middle 50s w/full sun.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Our coldest night! With a clear sky and calm wind, lows will drop into the middle/upper 20s area-wide. Another freeze warning is in effect.

THU/FRI: A fairly quick recovery in temperature is on the way. Cold mornings will continue, but daytime highs should recover into the 60s Thursday and to near 70° Friday.

WEEKEND: The warm-up continues! Highs will easily reach the 70s both day with the morning chill gradually wearing off as well.
