November 10 proclaimed as ‘Judge Fred Wicker Day’ in Pontotoc
PONTOTOC, Miss. (WCBI) – The memory and legacy of a longtime civic leader will be honored in Pontotoc.
November 10 has been proclaimed as “Judge Fred Wicker Day” in Pontotoc. Wicker was a leader in the community and a member of the local Rotary Club for 75 years.
A dinner will take place at the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist in Pontotoc. Proceeds will help needy kids in Pontotoc City and County schools.
“We think the schools have a lot of needs. We have children here who it’s easy to forget about, teachers know about them, see them first hand and Judge Wicker would be very pleased that Pontotoc Rotary was doing this in his honor,” said Bob McGee, Pontotoc Rotary Club.
Senator Roger Wicker will be the guest speaker at the dinner honoring his dad.
