North Mississippi Medical Center Honors former doctor
WEST POINT, Miss (WCBI)- A beloved doctor from West Point who passed away suddenly almost two years ago now has a lasting tribute at the hospital the served for nearly four decades.
North Mississippi Medical Center-West Point hosted a ceremony Monday to dedicate its Intensive Care Unit in memory of Edmund “Ed” A. Miller Junior.
Dr. Miller served as an internal medicine physician from 1982 until his death in December of 2021.
Family and hospital staff say Miller’s memory will always be remembered for his dedication to his patients.
“This was a dedication of the ICU unit here at North Mississippi Medical Center West Point and dedication of a tree in honor of Doctor Ed Miller who practiced medicine here in West Point for forty years,” said Shane Spees, North Mississippi Medical Services President and CEO.
“North Mississippi Medical Center West Point was constructed in the early eighties, my dad Doctor Edmund Miller was the first critical doctor at this facility, and he passed away two years ago, and the facility has decided to dedicate the ICU in his name since he spent his entire forty-year career right here at this one facility” said Edmund Miller, son of “Ed” Miller.
