CALEDONIA, Miss. – A Caledonia girl has a brand new bedroom, thanks to some local volunteers.
It took a day-and-a-half for 20 volunteers with the non-profit group, Rebecca’s Rooms, to give Emily Kellum’s room a makeover. Emily, 12, has autism.
They painted the walls, made sensory boards with items for her to play with, and even gave her a new TV and DVD player.
Emily’s parents say they’re grateful.
“It’s everything,” said Emily’s dad, Jim Kellum. “The theme, of course, the monkeys she loves. The TV and everything she watches on TV is just, it’s perfect for her.”
This is the second time the organization remodeled a room for a child with a disability.
