No Lucky Day For Columbus Pair
FLOWOOD (WCBI)- Two Columbus men hoped to be on their way to a 100 Thousand dollar lottery payoff. One small problem. The ticket they tried to cash was fake.
47 year old Odis Latham, 47, and 48-year-old Russell Sparks showed up at the state lottery office Monday morning to cash a ticket worth 100 K . A lottery official questioned the look of the ticket and it turns out the pair glued winning numbers to match those needed to win the 6 figures.
Both, have been charged with conspiracy to commit-felony and uttering counterfeit instrument over $1,000. Latham was also charged with false ID information.
The men are being held at the Rankin County Jail with no bond and are scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
