No Changes To The Noxubee County Sheriff’s Budget
NOXUBEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – There will be no changes to the Noxubee County Sheriff’s Department’s budget.
Sheriff Terry Grassaree says the board of supervisors had discussed cutting two deputy positions, after the department overspent its previous budget.
He cites bills from the three municipalities as the reason for the excess spending.
Supervisors decided in their meeting Monday morning, October 2, to work with the department and not cut positions.
“We went through there and cleaned all that up. Then, we found out that I did have to still do a little finagling on how I was going to do my time with my deputies, but it came out to their satisfaction and it was something that I could deal with and live with, also,” says Grassaree.
The department has five full-time deputies and one part-time deputy.
