New “Top Cop” in Macon

MACON, Miss. (WCBI) -The City of Macon’s Police Department is under new leadership.

In a move that took many by surprise, the Board of Aldermen voted Tuesday night to reassign former Chief Lucious Mason to patrol status, effective immediately.

They also promoted Assistant Chief Davine Beck to the position of interim Chief.

Mayor Bob Boykin opposed the change.
