New task force aims to fight against crime

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- Fighting against crime. That’s the goal of the Columbus-Lowndes County Crime Prevention Task Force.

Monday night members met at the municipal complex, in Columbus, to talk about different committees that are formed within in the task force.

Some of those include Youth Development and Community Programs, Education and Community Involvement and Community Policing.

Lowndes County Supervisor Leroy Brooks gave the overview of the committees.

The goal is to create a safer and more welcoming “Friendly City.”
