New Albany Softball Star Heading To Blue Mountain
BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. (BMC SPORTS INFO.)- Kaitlyn Cavender of New Albany, Miss. has decided to stay close to home and play softball at Blue Mountain College.
“She is a fantastic young lady and will be a great addition to the Blue Mountain softball family and I know she really appreciates the opportunity to receive a degree from such a great school. I look forward to watching her follow her dreams,” New Albany head coach Tom Zahler recently said.
Cavender stated “The education side of the program really sparked my attention because I really didn’t know if they would have what I wanted, but they did. They have really good business (department) and education,” Cavender said. “They’ve (Blue Mountain) always been on the next field (at New Albany Sportsplex) and I’ve always wondered if they were looking at me. That’s been pretty much my team that I’ve been wanting to go to. I’m really, really excited to go and play there.”
Blue Mountain head coach Tyler Herring said, “Kaitlyn is the type of kid that every coach wants in their program. She’s got a great attitude, she’s a good teammate and she works really hard. Kaitlyn has a lot of athleticism and could play just about anywhere for us.”
