NEW ALBANY, Miss. (WCBI) – Residents in New Albany spent part of their day remembering and reflecting on the events of 11 years ago.
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 72 sponsored a ceremony in rememberance of those who died on September 11, 2001.
Speakers led the crowd in prayer, patriotic songs and those in the audience were encouraged to not let their support waver for the nation, its leaders and military.
“It’s like the old marine slogan, ‘Lest We Forget’ this is an honored time we will never forget the treachery and tragedy that happened on September 11, 2001,” says Will Ford of VFW Post 72.
Wreaths were lain in honor of those who have served and died defending the country.
