Video: NBA Player Gives Away Holiday Turkeys

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – NBA player and Starkville native Travis Outlaw is making sure hundreds of his hometown families have a turkey on the table this Christmas.

There was a long line of people Wednesday morning to get a free turkey at the Starkville Sportsplex.

Outlaw’s parents,  John and Markeeta, began organizing the turkey drive after Travis told them he wanted to do something special in his hometown.

The drive is similar to a project his team, the Sacramento Kings, is doing.

Thanks to help from Kroger, Clark Beverage, and the city of Starkville, Outlaw was able to give away 600 free turkeys Wednesday.
