National Emergency Medical Services Week Celebrated in Amory
AMORY, Miss. (WCBI) – Those who work tirelessly to protect and provide care are being honored this week. It’s National Emergency Medical Services Week and first responders are being treated to a special luncheon. The celebration kicked off today in Amory at the Gilmore Regional Medical Center. National EMS Week also raises awareness about public safety and injury prevention. Amory Fire fighter Shayne Grant says he appreciates being recognized for something he loves to do.
“There’s a lot of thought and a lot of hard work that’s put into this for us. A lot folks say we don’t get the appreciation we deserve but this is one way of showing that we really do,” says Grant.
This is the 40th Anniversary of National EMS Week.
