Names of victims in Artesia shooting released

ARTESIA, Miss (WCBI) – According to Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant, the men killed yesterday in the triple homicide in Artesia have been identified as Demario Snell, 31 of Artesia, Mauricio Lamarcus Nance, 22, of Columbus and Tyshun Bernard Fields, 24, of Crawford.

They were pronounced dead at the scene and will be taken to the Mississippi Forensic Center in Pearl for autopsies.

Lowndes County Sheriff Mike Arledge says a person of interest is in custody.

The shooting happened just before 4 p.m. on Monday.
