Names Released In Columbus Convenience Store Brawl Arrests
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The names of those arrested earlier this week at a Columbus convenience store brawl are released.
Police Chief Fred Shelton says Demonte Harris, 25, was charged with Possession of Cocaine.
Meanwhile, Cortez Shields, 32, is charged with felon in Possession of a Weapon.
Columbus police were called to the Sprint Mart in the 700 block of 45 North on Wednesday morning, March 14.
There were reports of a large fight. At least 8 people were detained for questioning at one point.
Shelton says that argument stemmed from an early Wednesday morning shooting in the 400 block of 15th Avenue South.
CPD is still investigating whether a shooting on 21st Street North is connected to the other two incidents.
