MUW Warns of Financial Aid Scam

COLUMBUS, Miss. — Mississippi University for Women has received reports of an unknown person, purporting to be from Washington, D.C., contacting students to request personal banking information related to federal financial aid. This is believed to be a scam. No legitimate source would request a student’s bank account information by phone, and students are advised to treat such calls as phishing attempts.

If you receive such a call, please do not respond. If you need financial aid assistance, please contact the Office of Financial Aid at 662-329-7114.
