MUW Student Reporter Visits White House

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The editor of the campus newspaper at Mississippi University for Women gets the scoop on the world of politics inside the White House press room.

Jessica Barnett was among the student reporters from dozens of campuses across the country selected to participate in the first-ever White House College Reporter Day last week.

Barnett attended a news briefing with White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest in the briefing room where they discussed campus-related issues.

They also met national correspondents and senior administration officials.

Barnett says a highlight of the briefing was a surprise visit by President Obama.
