Murder Trial Underway

OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – The murder trial for a man charged in a 2014 fatal shooting in Starkville is wrapping up.

Immanuel Manning is accused of shooting to death Christopher Houston, 35, of Starkville.

Manning took the stand in his defense Wednesday afternoon in Okitbbeha County circuit court.

The jury is expected to begin deliberating Thursday.

The shooting happnened at Univeristy Hills Trailer Park in March of 2014.

Houston died from a single gunshot wound.

Manning was arrested several days later by police in Pearl.
