Murder suspect snagged by stop sticks

LEE COUNTY (WCBI) – A murder suspect was jailed in Lauderdale County thanks to the Lee County Sheriffs Department.

Lee County 911 was tipped Saturday that a Burgundy Ford Expedition connected to the Lauderdale murder was heading into Lee County.

Deputies staked out the highway near the Shannon exit and spotted Gregory Freeman’s SUV. That word was passed along to another set of deputies stationed at Brewer Road.  They used stop sticks and disabled the Expedition.

The suspect was arrested without incident and is now back in Lauderdale County.
