Multiple Arrests in Booneville

BOONEVILLE, Miss. (Press Release)-

The Booneville Police Department has arrested and charged Jamale Isaiah Williams, 23 of Booneville, with felony charges as a result of a safety check-point on Second Street conducted on 08/18/2017.

The charges are:

– Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute (Enhanced being within 1,500 feet of a church and enhanced with having a firearm)
– Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon having previously been convicted of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

His bond was set at $30,000.00. His case will be presented to the next Prentiss County Grand Jury.

 

The Booneville Police Department has arrested and charged two suspects for breaking into storage buildings on South Second Street over the weekend on 08/19/2017. Patrol officers were conducting checks of the storage units and found the two suspects. Further investigation found one of the suspects to be in possession of narcotics.

The arrests and charges are:

– Timothy Michael Burdue, 20 of Booneville, is charged with Burglary of a Commercial Building, Felony Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Felony Possession of Methylphenidate Hydrochloride, and Felony Possession of Methamphetamine. His bond is set at $20,000.00.

– Richard Allen Ross, 21 of Booneville, is charged with Burglary of a Commercial Building. His bond is set at $5,000.00.

Both cases will be presented to the next Prentiss County Grand Jury.

 

The Booneville Police Department responded to a call on 08/18/2017 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital for a report of an individual giving false identifying information to medical staff.

Officers arrived and were also given false identifying information by the same individual. Officers learned the same individual had done this on more than one prior occasion.

She was positively identified as Mary Alice Bays, 40 of South MS. She was arrested and charged with Feloniously Fraudulently Obtaining Services. Her bond was set at $5,000.00. She is also charged with multiple misdemeanor charges with a separate bond for those charges. Her case will be presented to the next Prentiss County Grand Jury.

 

The Booneville Police Department responded to a reported shoplifting and simple assault at Wal-Mart on 08/18/2017 involving a female taking items, assaulting an employee, and fleeing the scene. She was later located on Highway 45 and identified as Shyniece S. Simmons, 25 of Corinth, MS.

She was transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital for unrelated medical treatment. She was found to be in possession of a felony amount of cocaine while receiving medical treatment. She was released from the hospital and immediately transported to the Prentiss County Jail on 08/21/2017.

She was charged with Felony Possession of Cocaine. Her bond was set at $5,000.00. She was also charged with the misdemeanor charges from Wal-Mart and a separate bond was set. She’s also wanted by two other agencies for outstanding criminal charges.

 

The Booneville Police Department arrested and charged Brittany Nicole Cartwright, 26 of Rienzi, on 08/19/2017 with Possession of Methamphetamine within a Correctional Facility (Prentiss County Jail) after being found in possession of the narcotic once she was arrested for misdemeanor offenses and brought to the jail.

The arrest occurred on Church Street near Smith Street. Her bond was set at $5,000.00. Her case will be presented to the Prentiss County Grand Jury.

 

On 08/07/2017 the Booneville Police Department arrested Kent Davis Turner, 26 of Booneville, on Cherry Street after a traffic stop for driving with suspended license led to the discovery of Mr. Turner possessing a felony amount of Methamphetamine.

He was also wanted by the MDOC. His bond was set at $5,000.00. His case will be presented to the Prentiss County Grand Jury.

 

On 08/08/2017, the Booneville Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Xavier Gamble, 24 of Booneville, at the intersection of West Church and First Street for failure to stop at a stop sign.

Investigation stemming from the traffic stop led to the discovery of Mr. Gamble being in possession of approximately 13 grams of Methamphetamine. His bond was set at $10,000.00. His case will be presented to the Prentiss County Grand Jury.

 

On 08/10/2017, the Booneville Police Department was conducting a safety checkpoint on East Church Street which brought them in contact with Gary Matthew Carpenter, 36 of Booneville, and Anthony Lemar Sullivan, 38 of Booneville.

Mr. Carpenter was found to be in possession of a felony amount of methamphetamine. A female was arrested for misdemeanor charges along with Mr. Sullivan. Once inside of the jail, Mr. Sullivan was found to be in possession of methamphetamine.

He was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine in a correctional facility (Prentiss County Jail). Mr. Carpenter’s bond was set at $5,000.00. Mr. Sullivan’s bond was set at $10,000.00. Both cases will be presented to the Prentiss County Jail.

 

On 08/14/2017, the Booneville Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Second Street for a misdemeanor traffic offense which led to the identification of Jack Dewailly, 32 of Booneville, as the driver.

Further investigation at the time of the stop led to the discovery of Mr. Dewailly to be in possession of a felony amount of methamphetamine. He was arrested and charged. His bond was set at $5,000.00. His case will be presented to the Prentiss County Grand Jury.

 

On 06/20/2017, the Booneville Police Department received a report of a vehicle stolen from a residence on Hollie Haven. The vehicle was recovered. Investigation into the theft led to charges being filed against James Glenn Myers, 51, of Enid, MS.

He is currently being held in the Alcorn County Jail where he faces other unrelated felony charges. He will face those charges before being transported to Prentiss County to face the charge of Felony Taking of a Motor Vehicle. This case will be presented to the next Prentiss County Grand Jury.

 

The Booneville Police Department received a report of a burglary of a residence on South Lake Street on 07/29/2017. Several items of value were taken. Investigation into the theft led to the arrest of Robert Lee Settles, 29, of Booneville.

On 08/10/2017 the Booneville Police Department executed a felony arrest warrant for William Corey McKinney for a charge of Grand Larceny. Mr. McKinney is charged with feloniously taking property valued at more than $2,500.00 from an individual in July of this year.

His bond was set at $1,000.00. His case will be presented to the next Prentiss County Grand Jury.

 

Booneville Patrol Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a motor vehicle for traffic violations on 08/04/2017 at approximately 22:00 hours in the area of Cherry Street. The vehicle refused to stop and a pursuit ensued.

The vehicle ultimately stopped on College Street where the driver was taken into custody and identified as Marcus Keith Allen. He was transported to the Prentiss County Jail and charged with one count of Felony Eluding Law Enforcement along with multiple misdemeanor offenses.

His bond was set at $10,000.00 as he was under MDOC supervision at the time of his arrest. His bond was set separately for the misdemeanor offenses. He has since been held by the MDOC. His case will be presented to the next Prentiss County Grand Jury.
