Much Needed Rain Arrives This Weekend

TONIGHT: Some clouds will begin to move in to the area, leaving partly to mostly cloudy skies. While clouds will keep us a bit warmer than we might be otherwise, colder air will filter in as well, dropping temperatures into the upper 20s once again.

FRIDAY: We will be much cooler with highs around 50 degrees. Cooler and drier air will filter in from the north, so some northern areas may end up stuck in the upper 40s.

THIS WEEKEND: Saturday will stay dry, but rain will move in Sunday. Temperatures will warm back into the mid 50s Saturday and to 60 on Sunday. While exact estimates of rainfall is still uncertain, most areas should see between a half inch and an inch of rain by the end of the day on Sunday.

NEXT WEEK: Some models are suggesting that we hang on to some remnant moisture from the Gulf until Tuesday. Others are suggesting that the front on Sunday sweeps all of the moisture along with it. Because of this, the forecast is very uncertain. Currently we are going with a 20% chance of rain for Monday and Tuesday. Depending on which model solution pans out, we could see either another good dose of rain, or we could see nothing. Either way, temperatures look to remain in the mid 60s for Monday and Tuesday before dropping back near 60 for Wednesday and Thursday.
