MSU’s Jackson Earns SEC POTW Honors
STARKVILLE, Miss (WCBI Sports) – Some people were thinking the MSU-Troy game might be a close one, but it wasn’t. It was a 62-7 beatdown Saturday. The 45 first-half points for State were the most in program history since 1946.
Senior guard Gabe Jackson is recognized today. The SEC names him offensive lineman of the week.
Jackson anchored a line that pushed around Troy Saturday to the tune of over 550 yards, over 230 of which were on the ground. Jackson had five pancake blocks.
The honor is the first of Jackson’s career and he is the first Bulldog to earn the weekly offensive line award from the league since Tobias Smith on Oct. 13, 2012.
