MSU’s Cox Suspended After Arrest
STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — Mississippi State University senior
defensive back Justin Cox is being held in the Oktibbeha County jail on domestic violence and burglary of a dwelling charges.
Deputies were called to the Aspen Heights apartment complex on Rocky Road just after 3 Friday morning. That’s where officers found a woman with a head injury.
The 21-year-old Cox was still on the scene and was arrested on aggravated domestic violence and suspicion of burglary of a dwelling charges.
MSU football coach Dan Mullen has suspended Cox from the team indefinitely.
The 6-3, 192-pound Cox graduated from West Point High and signed with Mississippi State but first played two years at East Mississippi Community College and was a member of the 2011 national championship team.
He played in every game last season and has this year, registering 15 tackles and six assists this season. He intercepted a pass against Auburn.
