MSU To Hear Results Of NCAA Investigation Friday
(Starkville, MS) (WCBI) The Mississippi State University Football program will find out Friday morning the results of an ongoing NCAA investigation. The NCAA Committee on Infractions says it will release its findings to the public just before a press conference set for 10 AM.
MSU nor the NCAA will comment on the report until its release. Back in August 2012, MSU did acknowledge it was cooperating with the NCAA in its investigation of a recruiting irregularity.
ESPN is reporting the findings will be considered major violations and will focus in part on former MSU Coach Angelo Mirando and current MSU player Will Redmond. One of Redmond’s former prep coaches claims a MSU booster offered Redmond $6,000 to sign with the school. MSU has since officially disassociated itself from that booster for making impermissible contact with a student athlete.
