MSU holds diversity conference

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Mississippi State is working to maintain and increase diversity and inclusion on campus.

Students, faculty, and staff are participating in a two-day diversity conference featuring panel discussions and workshops.

Renowned diversity expert Damon Williams is the the keynote speaker for the event.

The theme of the conference is “Our Voices-When Diversity Matters” and addresses ways to create a more inclusive environment in higher education.

“People don’t really know how to engage in conversations around diversity inclusion and so these are only the times that we have number one to engage in it not shy away from diversity and inclusion being able to have some of those tough conversations that’s often hard to have but people are wanting to know and wanting to engage in,” said MSU Multicultural Affair’s Rasheda Forbes.

The conference wraps up Friday.
