Video: MSU Cyber Security Week

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Mississippi State University in Starkville is hosting several public programs for the next few days, examining critical issues of a hyper-connected, internet-driven world as part of the university’s 6th annual Cyber Security Awareness Week.
One special guest for the week today[Tuesday] at Fowlkes Auditorium, a cyber security director from the Mississippi Office of Homeland Security declined an on camera interview with WCBI News.
University representative Tom Ritter helped in facilitating this week’s awareness program of events.
“What we want to do is, we want to raise student and faculty awareness about cyber security issues. And what resources there are in the state to help with these problems. And then finally to just make sure people are safe on the internet,” said Ritter.
From Tuesday through Thursday the university’s information Technology Services will sponsor an information booth on Colvard Student Union’s first floor from 10:30 a.m.-1 P.M. each day. Also program attendees will receive free T-shirts.
At 1 p.m. Wednesday in Fowlkes Auditorium, Thomas Bourgeois, dean of students will lead a program titled Unknowns of the Online World.”
The concluding event Thursday also in the Fowlkes Auditorium will be at 3:30 p.m. when Ritter presents Phish Bowl–Don’t Get Hooked.”
