STARKVILLE, Miss. – Mississippi State University’s Tau Sigma Delta architecture honor society is sponsoring the “Sixty-Nine Seventy: International Ideas Competition” exhibit in Giles Gallery, on the third floor of Giles Hall.
Open through Sept. 13, this exhibit showcases some of the work submitted for “The 69/70 Competition,” an international ideas contest in which more than 200 architects and designers from 48 countries submitted their ideas for enlivening blocks 69 and 70 in the center of downtown Salt Lake City.
A public reception will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 5 p.m. in Giles Gallery.
Jacob Gines, assistant professor in the School of Architecture, was one of the organizers and proctors for judging the competition.
“I am excited to have this work here and show it off to our students, faculty and the community at large,” said Gines, exhibit curator.
Senior architecture major Alex Reeves, son of Graham and Rhonda Reeves of Ellisville, will act as student curator for Tau Sigma Delta. He is also president of the MSU student chapter of the American Institute of Architecture Students.
