MSU 2014 Football Schedule Released
2014 FOOTBALL SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED
STARKVILLE, Miss. – The Southeastern Conference released its 2014 conference football schedule today, completing the full 12-game slate for Mississippi State. As previously announced, the Bulldogs begin the season in a newly renovated and expanded Davis Wade Stadium against Southern Mississippi.
For the ninth time in school history and the fifth time in the past six seasons, the Mississippi State football schedule includes seven home games. With a 14-week calendar, each SEC team will also have two off weeks during the 2014 season.
In addition to non-conference games against Southern Miss, UAB and UT-Martin, the 2014 home schedule includes SEC foes Texas A&M, Auburn, Arkansas and Vanderbilt.
The SEC portion of the schedule begins with a trip to Baton Rouge to face LSU. The Bulldogs opened the SEC slate against the Tigers from 1992 until 1995 and again in 2007.
The road schedule features a first-ever trip to Mobile to play South Alabama, along with four common trips for Mississippi State. State has played at Kentucky every other season since expansion in 1992 and Alabama, Ole Miss and LSU are the most common road destinations in school history.
