MSDH reports 1,856 new cases of COVID-19 infections

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI)-The Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting 1,856 new cases of COVID-19 and 39 new deaths.

There are 200 outbreaks of the virus in long-term care facilities within the state.

Lafayette County is showing the highest number of new cases with 45.

Lee has 36, Lowndes has 28, Oktibbeha is reporting 24 new cases and Monroe has 20.

Statewide, 263,023 people have been infected with the virus with 5,752.
