MS Court of Appeals Rejects Murder Appeal

JACKSON (WCBI) –  The Mississippi Court of Appeals says no to a Starkville man’s request for a new trial.

I. MANNINGImmanuel Manning was convicted in August 2016 of the 2014 murder of Christopher Houston at the University Hills trailer park. During his trial Oktibbeha County detectives said they used a cell phone trace to zero in on Manning’s location. The appeal questioned whether the deputies were technically trained to search cell phone signals. The justices ruled they were. The court also rejected arguments the evidence did not warrant a conviction. Manning will continue to serve his life without parole sentence
