Video: Motorcycle Accident Leaves One Dead

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — A motorcycle collides with a car on Tuscaloosa Road, claiming the life of a Lowndes County man.

The crash occurred in the 400 block of Tuscaloosa Road about 6:15 PM.

According to Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant, the driver of the motorcycle, 29-year old Timothy Mayatt, died from injuries sustained from the incident. He says the driver lost control of his motorcycle and collided into a silver Mazda.

Merchant said the driver of the motorcycle was rushed to the Baptist Memorial Golden Triangle, where he died. Columbus police are investigating the crash.
