STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — Mothers and their daughters came out Saturday in Starkville to have a little talk.
The Emerson Family School hosted nearly 80 moms and daughters to discuss improving their relationships with better communication.
Session topics included problem solving, self esteem and bullying.
Moms learned tips about raising teenage children and the teens talked about how to get along with their parents.
“We wanted to help strengthen the family in the area of communication. We’re having a lot of problems. Our parents are not respecting our daughters. Our daughters are not respecting our parents. So we are focusing on how we mutually respect each other to make for a happy home,” says Elmarie Carr Brooks, with Project Care.
Children participating ranged from age 6 to 19. The event was free and participants also received door prizes.
