Mostly sunny, warm days stick around

COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) – Temperatures stay above average through the weekend. A strong front  is set to bring big changes by Monday and Tuesday of next week.

WEDNESDAY: With high pressure to the east and a developing ridge to the south, we’re set for more sunshine and warm weather. Highs should top out in the lower to middle 80s with a southeast breeze.

THU/FRI: The main storm track will remain focused to the northwest, keeping any rain chances away from north MS. This means dry and warm weather continues – highs will remain in the lower to middle 80s.

WEEKEND: The storm track does shift a little closer, and it could bring some rain for areas as close as Memphis. Otherwise, we expect dry weather to hold w/highs in the 80s.

NEXT WEEK: A shallow but strong front should sweep through sometime Monday, ushering in much colder air. Highs will likely hold in the 60s Monday with a stiff north breeze along with occasional showers. Tuesday looks to dry out and partially clear, but highs will stay near 60°.
