Moore Named MACJC Pitcher of the Week for Second Time
FULTON, Miss. (WCBI/LetsGoICC.com) – Itawamba Community College freshman Stephon Moore was named Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) Pitcher of the Week for his performances against Holmes Community College and Copiah-Lincoln Community College last week.
The West Point native started the week by throwing and complete game two hitter against Holmes. Over his seven innings against the Bulldogs, Moore struck out six and allowed one earned run to lead the Indians (26-18, 14-14 MACJC) to an 8-2 game two victory and the doubleheader sweep.
Four days later the 6’1 left-hander came in for some relief work, throwing two innings against Co-Lin Saturday. Moore picked up two strikeouts and allowed two hits in the Indians 8-2 regular season finale.
In his two appearances, Moore finished with a 1.00 ERA and allowed only four hits, one earned run, six walks and eight strikeouts.
Moore and the Indians have clinched a spot in the playoffs that begin Friday. However, the Indians are still waiting to see who they will play as the rest of the league finishes the regular season Tuesday.
