‘Monster Jam’ Revs Up In The Bancorpsouth Arena
TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – It will be a weekend full of high-flying stunts, performed by drivers of “Monster Trucks.”
The motor sport event known as “Monster Jam” takes place Friday and Saturday at Tupelo’s Bancorpsouth Arena.
The main attractions are racing and freestyle competitions by the monster trucks. These shows will help drivers accumulate points on the road to the “Monster Jam World Finals” coming up in Las Vegas.
Even longtime drivers say driving the 12′ tall trucks, with 5′ tall tires never gets old.
“It’s a different performance every night, you never know what these trucks will do, when I come out here, you know, I know what I want the truck to do but whether or it does what I want, I never can tell, but it’s an adrenaline rush every time I get behind the wheel,” said Pablo Huffaker, driver for the “Grave Digger.”
Friday morning, Monster Jam partnered with the United Way of Northeast Mississippi for a book drive.
This year, audience members can vote on their favorite Monster Truck during the event.
Also, audience members are encouraged to use ear protection because the show is very loud.
Monster Jam takes place Friday evening, with two shows Saturday.
