Monroe County Tables Vicious Dog Ordinance Again
By: Steve Rogers
MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Too many questions, too few answers; that means another delay for a vicious dog ordinance in Monroe County.
Supervisors had hoped to have a new law finalized by now to hold the owners of vicious dogs accountable for their pets.
But it now could be another month, if at all.
Supervisors want more discussions about paying Amory and Aberdeen shelters to house confiscated pets.
They also must work out enforcement details and language about what constitutes a vicious dog.
That’s especially true in distinguishing between attacks on humans and attacks on other animals.
Supervisors have been discussing the topic since this spring.
