Monroe Co. Home Destroyed By Fire

MONROE CO., Miss. – (WCBI) A Monroe County family’s home is totally destroyed by fire.

It happened around 5 p.m Thursday evening, volunteer fire fighters from Wren and Nettleton responded to a blaze on Camargo Rd near The Calvary Faith Center Church. Monroe County resident Adell Jernigan was not at home when the fire started. According to her son George Holland, his mother had just gotten out of the hospital and was staying with him.

“When I got here from over in Nettleton the back half of the house was engulfed. So it was right around the meter box which ever. So right now we really don’t know what started it,” said George Holland, Fire Victim’s Relative.

There were no injuries, the fire remains under investigation.
