MMA to Host Reception for Furniture Manufacturers, Suppliers
TUPELO, Miss. (Press Release) — The Mississippi Manufacturers Association (MMA) recently confirmed that it will hold a reception for furniture manufacturers and suppliers on Wednesday, August 13, just prior to opening day of the fall iteration of the Tupelo Furniture Market. The event is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. and will be located in Building VI at the Tupelo Furniture Market.
According to Shannon Hood, the marketing and membership manager for the association, the purpose of the reception is for the association to reach out and strengthen MMA’s relationship with the furniture industry.
“Mississippi industry manufacturers and ships more upholstered furniture than any other state in the nation and the third largest amount of furniture overall,” said Hood. “We recognize their importance to our state and want to share with them what MMA can do to assist them in their business endeavors. Holding a reception for furniture manufacturers, on-site during the Tupelo Furniture Market, seemed like a perfect opportunity for us to meet with our existing furniture industry members and to recruit new ones.”
“We welcome the opportunity to coordinate this reception with the Mississippi Manufacturing Association,” said Kevin J. Seddon, president of the Tupelo Furniture Market. “The Tupelo Furniture Market is the perfect venue for this type of industry gathering. There will be more than 500 manufacturers and suppliers on hand during the market and this reception will present a chance for them to talk with MMA officers and staff and learn how MMA can help their business.”
All manufacturers and suppliers attending the Tupelo Furniture Market are invited to attend the reception, as well as furniture manufacturers operating within the region.
MMA has been the Voice of Industry in the state since 1951 and has worked diligently to maintain a strong manufacturing environment in Mississippi. The association addresses the needs of manufacturers through active involvement in federal and state legislative and regulatory issues, as well as educational and training opportunities. MMA represents their memberships’ interests in the areas of industrial and employee relations, the environment, taxation, energy, workforce development and transportation. In addition, the association provides a number of benefits and services exclusively for its members.
Located and held in Tupelo, Mississippi since 1987, more than 10,000 furniture buyers and 600 to 800 furniture manufacturers participate in the event each spring and fall from throughout the United States and many other countries.
