Video: Mississippi University For Women Diversity Award

COLUMBUS, Miss.(WCBI)—An MUW educator is nominated for the I-H-L diversity award. The “W” has selected Kimone Simmons as this year’s Diversity Educator of the Year.

Each university can nominate a candidate for the statewide honor. Simmons is the coordinator of student engagement. She works to provide continuity to students of all backgrounds.

Students will come to a university for a lot of different areas and so in-state and out of state, international and domestic students and so we will have to provide an understanding of who is here in our campus and allow them to learn from each other,”said Simmons.

Simmons will be recognized along with each university nominee at the IHL Board meeting Thursday, February. 16.
