Video: Mississippi State Pulls Away From Southern Miss

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WCBI Sports) – It wasn’t as easy as it was a year ago.
The Mississippi State football team used a strong second half to pull away from Southern Miss 34-16 on the road Saturday. The Bulldogs trailed 10-7 after a quarter and led 14-10 at halftime.
State outscored the Eagles 20-6 in the second half, out-gaining Southern Miss 323 yards to 177 in total offense. MSU senior quarterback Dak Prescott finished with 309 total yards and three total touchdowns in a game that ended at 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
Mississippi State was a three-touchdown favorite entering the game, having defeated Southern Miss 49-0 last season.
