Mississippi State, Ole Miss To Host In NCAA Tournament
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WCBI Sports) – The Mississippi State and Ole Miss baseball teams will both host in the upcoming NCAA Tournament, the NCAA announced Sunday night. It’s the first time that the two schools will host in the same season.
As expected, both teams were in the 16 sites listed to host regionals, the first round of this coming week’s tournament. The full bracket, including the top-eight seeds (which also would host super regionals if they advance), will be revealed Monday beginning at 11 a.m. CT. Regional play will begin Friday, June 3.
Mississippi State is hosting for the 13th time in program history. The Bulldogs have advanced seven of the 13 overall times they’ve hosted an NCAA Tournament round.
It’s the seventh time Ole Miss has hosted, all since 2004. The Rebels are 15-1 in home regional games since 2005.
Seven SEC schools are host sites, a record for the conference.
