Mississippi State Basketball Players Sweating It Out This Summer
STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) -The start of the next college basketball season is many months away, but the seeds for a deep run in March are sewn in July.
Members of the Mississippi State basketball team are sweating it out this Summer with a series of strength and condition working outs.
We caught up with a couple of guys right outside the weight room Tuesday (7-2) afternoon.
Starkville native and Mississippi State forward Gavin Ware said, ” As soon as we start practice we want to be in the best shape, so when its time to play we won’t need to lose weigh, we’ll already be at the weight and just work at our game from there.”
When asked by the expectations for next season, forward Colin Borchert replied, “It should be a lot better, but we have no guarantees. We have to go out there everyday and work hard. We have to go out there and attack it, like it’s our last game. That’s what coach keeps saying is intensity. How much do we want it, and the way to get that is the off season.>
Mississippi state’s home schedule includes a showdown with the Texas Christian Horned Frogs, December 5th.
