Mississippi Economic Development Director Leaving For North Carolina Position
JACKSON, Miss. (AP) – Mississippi economic development chief Brent Christensen is taking a job in North Carolina.
The announcement came Wednesday in a news release from Lee Lloyd, chairman of the Greensboro Partnership.
Christensen has been executive director of the Mississippi Development Authority since April of 2012.
He will become the new President and CEO of the Greensboro Partnership no later than June 1.
Christensen has ties to North Carolina, having earned undergraduate degrees in economics and public policy from Duke University.
Previously, Christensen served for 10 years as the President and CEO of the Gainesville (Florida) Area Chamber of Commerce.
Christensen holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of South Florida.
