Mississippi Coronavirus numbers continue to increase
JACKSON, MISS. (WCBI) – Mississippi sees another significant increase in COVID-19 cases.
The state department of health is reporting 876 new cases today, along with 25 deaths.
600 people are hospitalized with confirmed or suspected coronavirus symptoms.
145 patients are in I.C.U. and 69 are on a ventilator.
Health officials say on 12 percent of positive cases in Mississippi require hospitalization.
In our area, Pickens County, Alabama has the highest number of new cases today with 63.
Lee County has 51, Monroe has 16, Lafayette has 14, and Itawamba has 11.
Of note, Choctaw and Webster County reported zero new cases.
