Missing teen home, ‘no sign’ of teacher accused of sex crime

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) – Police in Mississippi say a teenage boy reported missing has returned home, but there’s “no sign” of the former teacher he was believed to be with.

News outlets report Hattiesburg police announced that 16-year-old Oscar O’Neal II returned home Wednesday, more than a week after he left home in the early hours of April 30. Police believed he was with 30-year-old Nicole Jackson, who surrendered to a charge of sexual battery while in position of trust or authority on April 10.

She had bonded out on $10,000.

Hattiesburg police spokesman Ryan Moore didn’t provide further information about O’Neal’s disappearance or where he may have been.

Jackson, who resigned from Earl Travillion Attendance Center earlier in April, is still wanted by police.

An investigation is ongoing.
