Miss Mississippi Back After Strong Finish At Miss America

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI)- Miss Mississippi Hannah Roberts is back in the Magnolia State after being named first runner up in the Miss America pageant Sunday night.

Roberts returned home to a crowd of supporters at the airport Monday evening.

The University of Southern Mississippi graduate impressed the judges on stage Sunday night with her original piece on violin and poise during evening gown and interview competitions.

Roberts say making it down to the final two was an exciting honor.

Roberts won $30,000 in scholarships.  She plans to use it for medical school after her reign as Miss Mississippi.
