LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A high-ranking lawmaker talks with the Lowndes County Republican Women today.

Miss. Representative Greg Snowden talked about republican efforts to control spending, education reform and bringing more jobs to the state.

The Speaker Pro Tempore from Meridian says cost savings measures have filled the state’s rainy day fund. This upcoming session, he said he expects more money for state agencies.

“We will have additional monies available that we can use on education, healthcare, and other priorities,” Snowden said. “So, I think we will see an increase for sure.”

Snowden says republicans are confident the party will maintain control of the House and Senate going into next year’s elections.

Snowden spoke at the Lion Hills Country Club today.
