Mild Today; Cold Air and Wintry Weather Tonight and Tuesday Morning.
TODAY: Plenty of sunshine in the morning, with clouds gradually building in through the afternoon. Southwest winds at 10-20 mph gusting as high as 25 mph. Highs in the low 60s. Overnight, showers begin as a strong cold front pushes in from the northwest. Behind the front as temperatures fall, rain will transition to snow. A warm, wet ground will somewhat limit accumulations, but we generally expect anywhere from a trace to 2 inches across our area, with the highest amounts generally being in the southeastern parts of our area. Temperatures dip below freezing overnight, meaning a few isolated travel issues can’t be ruled out. Breezy conditions overnight, with northwest winds gusting up to 30 mph.
TUESDAY: Light snow possible before 6 am, then becoming partly cloudy. We will likely see most, if not all, of the snowfall melt Tuesday. Highs only climb into the mid 30s. Northwest winds gust up to 30 mph. Temperatures drop into the 20s overnight.
WED/THU: Partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies. High temperatures in the low 40s Wednesday and upper 40s Thursday. Lows in the low 20s Wednesday night and low to mid 30s Thursday night.
FRI/SAT/SUN: We trend much warmer towards the end of this week, with high temperatures back in the 50s and 60s, and overnight lows in the 40s. A couple of weak disturbances will bring some low end shower chances and more cloud cover to round out the week, but it doesn’t look like enough rain to cancel any plans at this time.
