Milam Elementary students celebrate its recent “A” rating

The PTO, with help from local businesses, organized a day of fun for students and teachers to mark the big achievement.

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – There was music, food, games, and a lot of fun for Milam Elementary students as the Tupelo school celebrated its recent “A” rating.

The PTO, with help from local businesses, organized a day of fun for students and teachers to mark the big achievement.

Students and teachers say everyone worked hard and they’re not stopping now.

“Part of it is having really good relationships with students, teachers having good relationships with students, students having strong relationships with peers, it all starts with relationships and getting a good understanding of where children come from,” said Milam Principal Dr. Terry Harbin.

“We worked last year, our teachers were so amazing and we worked hard,” said student Mary Liddy Wyatt.

Businesses provided the food, popcorn, and drinks for the celebration.
