Mid-week temp drop
COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) – Early week conditions have been comfortable and breezy. Mid-week conditions will have a bit of a cool down, thanks to Tuesday’s passing cold front. Strong system bringing showers and storms is still on the horizon for the weekend.
TUESDAY NIGHT: The mostly clear sky from today will again continue into tonight. This will allow for the overnight low temperatures to fall into the middle 30s. May still be breezy at times, as the wind shifts allowing for cooler air to move in from the NW.
WEDNESDAY: The coldest 24 hour period of the week! Thanks to the cold front, colder air will enter northern Mississippi overnight. High temperatures will stay cool, only reaching the low to middle 50s. Overnight Wednesday will be COLD. Low temperatures will drop into the upper 20s. Make sure to drip your pipes overnight and bring in any outdoor pets/plants.
THUR/FRI: Warming up a little more each day. Thursday is expected to be in the upper 50s. The mostly clear sky continues through Thursday, allowing for lows to fall into the middle to upper 30s. Friday will have high temps in the middle 60s. Clouds will be slowly filling in throughout the day. There will be a light chance for rain late Friday night, with mild overnight temps in the middle 50s.
WEEKEND: Still watching details on this incoming strong system. Most of the showers and storms look to roll through Mississippi during the afternoon and continuing into the evening. Some storms could even produce some severe qualities. Exact timing is still uncertain, though Sunday will become much clearer throughout the day.
